I work with the leaders of privately-owned businesses to help them learn the secret of how to grow their companies while increasing both the profitability and value of their business.
I grew up working in my family’s advertising, marketing and public relations businesses. I put myself through the University of Tulsa where I earned my BS degree in Business Administration as an Accounting major. I then served as a Graduate Assistant and a Teaching Associate at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business while earning my MBA degree. I am a Certified Public Accountant with memberships in the American Institute and the Oklahoma Society of CPAs.
After graduate school, I was a member of the Air Force Auditor General’s Resident Offices at Patrick AFB, Florida and Korat Air Base, Thailand specializing in performance improvement projects and evaluations of system procurement contracts. My time at Patrick AFB coincided with the Apollo space program, which was a once in a lifetime experience!
After the Air Force, I joined Arthur Young and spent the following 18 years as a consultant specializing in corporate financial management, acquisitions, financings and strategic projects with clients in a wide variety of industries. As an AY Partner I served as the National Director of the AY’s Petroleum Industry Consulting Practice, the Director of the Tulsa Entrepreneurial Services Group and the Regional Director for AY’s Strategic Management Practice.
I formed Corporate Performance Group in 1989. In 1994, I also became a Certified Facilitator and President of The Alternative Board (“TAB”) in Tulsa, a selective, invitation-only, business membership organization made up of presidents, chief executives and local business owners who meet in small, structured boards where they experience the magic that occurs when you get seasoned business leaders around a table addressing common issues and concerns. Since opening Tulsa’s first TAB boards, I have facilitated over 500 Board Meetings and provided over 5,000 hours of coaching to area CEOs, Managing Partners and business owners.
I have spent my entire career in a client service environment. It is what I do best and what I enjoy most. Along the way, I have been privileged to advise senior leaders of over 750 large (i.e. Fortune 100) and small, mature and early stage companies in a wide variety of industries and professions.
What matters most in working with our clients? Results. Through TAB and CPG, my partners and I have greatly impacted many businesses in the area, whether through substantial growth in profitability and value, winning regional and national distinctions or simply helping make business ownership a more enjoyable experience.
